Don’t become prideful about anything
God has entrusted to you.
Read the following verses. Think
and pray about the verse that applies the most to your life.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have
produced this wealth for me.” But remember the LORD your God, for it is
he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.
Psalm 62:10
If your riches increase, don’t be proud.
Deuteronomy 8:11-14
Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God… Otherwise, when you
eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and
when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase
and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and
you will forget the LORD your God.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
The Lord says, “Let not the…rich man boast of his riches, but let him
who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows Me.”
Psalm 39:5-6
Proud man! Frail as breath! A shadow! And all his busy rushing ends in
nothing. He heaps up riches for someone else to spend. TLB
Mark 8:36
What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
Proverbs 16:19
Better to be poor and humble than proud and rich. TLB
Obadiah 1:3-7
“The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who… make your home on
the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the
ground?’ Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the
stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD… “Oh, what a
disaster awaits you…Your friends will deceive and overpower you.”
When a man becomes rich, either God gains a partner or the man loses his
soul.

Girls
Helps Buy Multimillion Dollar Camp for $1
I heard a
missionary tell an amazing story of a child’s generosity. John Bechtel,
a missionary in Hong Kong, wanted to start a Christian camp to reach
people for Christ. A bankrupt multimillion-dollar hotel and conference
center became available for sale. He made an offer to purchase the
property and then traveled around the world to raise the millions he
would need. But no one was willing to help and he returned to Hong Kong
discouraged. Then one day he got a letter from a young girl that
included $1 and a note saying she wanted him to use this to buy the
camp. John Bechtel prayed and took the girl’s $1 to the real estate
closing and the corporation decided to accept the $1 as full payment!
Since the camp first opened, over a million people have come and over
100,000 have accepted Christ.
